カモメは海や故郷の岸辺をイメージさせる鳥であり、船乗りの言い伝えでは、カモメがいるともうすぐ家に帰れる、など言われているそうです。ボタンには、3色の青で広がる海上を、群れで飛んでいるカモメ達の後ろ姿を描き、このカモメ達が安全な所へと導いてくれるような気持ちで描きました。

Seagulls are birds that make you think the shores of your hometown. Sailors say that if you see seagulls, you will get home safe. I painted seagulls flying away in a flock over the sea spreading out into three shades of blue to give the feeling that these seagulls will lead you to a safe place.
